WebSIS
Welcome
to WebSIS, the web-based student information system for
students, faculty, and administrators at MIT. The site
provides students with access to their academic, financial,
and biographic records as well as the ability to update
their address information, pre-register for classes, and apply for degrees; it
provides instructors and departmental administrators with
class list information; and provides advisors and
departments with access to the individual academic records
of their students. In addition, the site provides links to
the academic calendar, the integrated listing of subject
offerings, and to general MIT academic and financial
information.
Access
to secure student information is controlled through the use
of MIT web certificates
which provide user authentication. In addition, all information sent from and to the secure web server is encrypted. Access to and use of the student information is governed by MIT's
student information policy.
The student information
in WebSIS comes from MITSIS, the student information system database.
